This is the first of many outdoor paintings with my pochade box. This is a lake called lake Eva near Haines City Florida. Yes, Alligators do reside in the lake so I needed to be alert to sneak attacks. It was a hot day in July making the painting session all the more challenging.
I started with an underpainting using burnt umber as a base for form and values.
