This is painted on hardboard, and Plein Air. I walked out into the hot Florida sun to paint this in the afternoon. The Cactus was quite tiny and in a sandy part of the trail. Yes, I could've taken a picture and painted it back at the studio, but there's nothing like painting with your own eyes. The colors your own eyes can detect are so much greater. This is me finding the small pieces of nature around Florida to turn into great pieces of art.
